Coaching Update
It appears that the UW will not be making a decision on a new coach until the second to third week of December, which means Lane Kiffen will not be the selected coach, which is great. Candidates that appear to still be in the running are names we've been hearing all along and all are still involved in existing positions so they're not available until after the regular season and most likely will either coach in a bowl game but have been announced as taking a new position or will have signed and not coach.
Still in the running:
Mike Leach - Although being #2 in the polls right now with Texas Tech doesn't help because it increases the likelihood TT will push to get him to sign a new deal.
Gary Pinkel - Oddly enough he may be a very legit candidate because he's done nothing to say he's not interested. They lose most of their team next season to graduation; including his QB.
The Utah coach - If Utah doesn't make the BCS with an undefeated season he may bolt to a bigger school where he can make a run at a title.
My take on this. Certainly the new open positions at Tenn and Clemson will increase competition for a new coach.
Oh, Can the UW beat AZ State? If the weather is as bad as it has been they may be able to.
