Notre Damn Game Prediction
31-21 the Irish with the UW covering the spread.
I see two issues at play here:
1) ND offensive line: They're big, veteran and they pass block well. They limit the amount of pressure on Jimmy Clausen so he's been able to complete passes this year at a fairly high rate. If you combine a veteran line with UW's inability to get pressure on the QB in any sustainable way, that's going to be a big factor.
2) The UW secondary isn't that good and when you factor into it potential key injuries to a couple of starters then it goes from decent to bad very quickly. "Late in practice, CB Quinton Richardson looked as if he suffered a right leg injury during a kickoff drill. And CB Desmond Trufant had his left calf wrapped and appeared limited."
My assumption is that ND will most likely pass for 3 TD's, run for one and kick a field goal for the 31.
For the UW to win, they have to get to the QB with pressure. Clausen has a turf-toe so any chance would likely be around getting the foot to act up a bit. The UW also has to stop the pass and get a few turnovers.
