UW Unveils a New Logo?

Did anyone catch the new logo that was to be unveiled partially today by the UW? Would love to see a copy of it if so.

In addition to showing off those black uniforms at the WSU game Saturday afternoon, UW also will reveal a new graphic image showing a tight close-up of the fierce eyes of a husky.

University spokesmen stressed that this is not a new official logo and is not intended to replace either the school’s block “W” logo nor the stylized husky-profile logo that has long derided as "the weasel” (and which the university is phasing out). There are no plans for it to show up on T-shirts let alone team uniforms.

However, the new image -- which is a hard horizontal shape, tightly fixed on the dog's eyes -- looks way better than either of those. To my taste, at least.

You should be able to see for yourself soon enough, as the new image will debut Saturday on the Hec Ed message boards and overhead scoreboard.
